Still no improvement. I'm never going to be able to draw again. I just know it. The universe said, 'oh you found something you love and made it the thing you live for? Well, we can't have that.'
Hang in there! It takes some time. By the way, ever consider accupuncture? I had a rescue kitten that was paralyzed from a dog bite. She took weekly accupuncture treatments for over 6 months and then got up after a treatment and took her first steps since the paralysis. She had been completely paralyzed even that day when I brought her in. One thing I observed, it's good for healing damaged nerves. Thought I'd put it out there.
Oh it's on the list of possibilities if nothing else works -- unfortunately, I doubt it's covered by my insurance, which is why I haven't explored it yet -- I can't really afford, well, technically, even my co-pays for physical therapy. A friend's mom also suggested, apparently botox injections can be helpful with some RSIs? HOWEVER, fingers super crossed, progress seems to be...progressing? Too soon to say for sure, but I changed the way I was treating it and it seems to have made a giant difference. Wishing and hoping.
Keep your eyes out for things in your community. In my area there is an accupuncture clinic where it's by donation for people who need it and can't afford it. Also Reiki (energy healing) is very good and some practitioners offer it low-cost or free. Health food stores, alternative healing centers and other places steeped in the organic lifestyle may be good sources for information. I often find out about them reading bulletin boards and local interest articles. My husband took accupuncture for a year without paying for it, since he found a practitioner offering free service to veterans.
I will TOTALLY check that out. I live in the neighborhood where the co-op and the Whole Foods and the Trader Joes are, so we have ALL the bulletin boards with stuff. I will check around. Thank you so much for the info!
I'm very sorry to hear this, but keep your chin up- what I do when I cannot/ don't want to draw is read a lot- and you can still 'practice' by doing research on art and art theory and history and stuff- see if you can get a program that when you speak to it it types things out for you so you can make notes and do blog posts perhaps without having to strain your hands. i hope this gets sorted soon, keep ups posted
Thank you. I just get really frustrated and depressed sometimes. I haven't been able to draw in 4 months and it's all I want to doooo....and I see other peoples' gorgeous art and I just want to make my own and I get very stressed out.
I do, and that makes a huge difference. The times when I'm just on the brink of utter despair, I'll get some great show of support and it just...the amount it makes me feel better is indescribable.
HOWEVER, fingers super crossed, progress seems to be...progressing? Too soon to say for sure, but I changed the way I was treating it and it seems to have made a giant difference. Wishing and hoping.
