My hand is at like...98%, which is both awesome and frustrating. Awesome for obvious reasons. Frustrating because it feels almost entirely back to normal, sometime not bothering me at all, making me think, 'well....I could just draw a little?', but I know that it ISN'T better yet -- certain activities bring on twinges and stiffness and there is a mild, intermittent ache -- and if I do the things that upset it in the first place I'll end up right back where I was and will have to start from scratch on healing.
So I'm trying to be patient.
I got a root canal today. Which went well.
And within 3 hours, I managed to break off a huge hunk of the temporary filling because I am brilliant. *sigh*
And, of course, the endodontics office had closed for the day already. Which, I think, means closed for the weekend as well.
I did not get to see the opening ceremonies for the Olympics, but tumblr has soundly informed me of all that I missed, with amusing color commentary. Oh, London. Wow. You guys.
Also, <fangirl gushing: Benedict Cumberbatch opening the games. Haven't seen the clip yet because my computer crashes about 90% of the time that I try to play a youtube video (yes, my baby really needs to get into the shop soon) but I've seen stills and GIFs and that man is just stupidly gorgeous. /fangirl gushing>
Not a lot else new.
We have storms here.
I've been watching Teen Wolf, which is a surprisingly good show.
Ditto Gravity Falls.
I've also been watching Pretty Little Liars (a couple of my friends do and I allowed myself to be convinced) and my lord is it a lot of soap opera drama. Cute, occasionally entertaining, but...it really just makes me crave things like season 1 quality Veronica Mars. Damn that was a wicked good season.
I kind of love this video/song -- Ok Cupid by Kitty Pryde: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SDYus…
I bought ice cream today.
As I have clearly run out of new material, here is some pretty art:

WOW it's been a while
As you can see by me still posting art, I'm still alive.
Just haven't been journaling much here.
But a fair amount of stuff has happened in my life.
My hands: After lots of disappointment with my specialist, I went back to my GP, who sent me for some further tests, including a neck xray, in which they found some disk narrowing. So she started me on a mild muscle relaxer that I take before bed and it really seems like it's making a difference. The times I've had the worst problems while taking it are when I'm having anxiety attacks -- so, when I'm really tense. I need to go get this looked into further, but we may have a winner.
My career:
Not an UTTER pit of despair
So, as the addition of new art to my gallery would imply, I am no longer 100% incapacitated. I am currently able to draw for up to about an hour at a time, depending on the day.
This is both great and not great.
Being able to draw at all again has been...healing. Emotionally. In full seriousness, the few months in which I was able to do so not at all were...quite possibly the hardest and most desperately miserable of my life. Now I have that outlet again. To some extent.
However, I'm not better. My tendinitis continues to be rather sporadically problematic. Some days I'll draw for what I am certain is too long and go to bed dreading a morn

Still no improvement.
I'm never going to be able to draw again. I just know it.
The universe said, 'oh you found something you love and made it the thing you live for? Well, we can't have that.'

Ugh haven't been on here in...about two weeks? Now my message box is insane.
On the bright side, it currently has 221 messages.
Which, as a Sherlockian, I find cool.
But it's going to be a pain to sort through them.
Still not drawing, in any tangible way.
I started Occupational Therapy a couple weeks ago and I'm going twice a week. I have exercises I do and we are trying to find a way to get me functional again. My hands seem to be getting STRONGER (good) but not necessarily better yet (less good.) This week, I was assigned to start drawing for 5 minutes at a time, about ever hour and a half to two hours. I may have pushed it a l
